Lose and manage Weight
Being overweight is not an uncommon condition, and being obese is certainly becoming a problem for society as a whole as well as for the individuals who suffer this plight.
You know how weight control is made to appear very simple through the diets which are suggested in just about every magazine on sale. They say, in essence, that energy input less energy spent leaves stored energy i.e. fat. Simply control the energy input and outputs so as to leave only the necessary stored energy, and hey presto! – ideal weight. Sounds so easy, doesn’t it ? However, at the level of human motivation and behaviour, eating and drinking are actually very complex processes because they are not simply the conscious intake of energy. Eating and drinking are at the centre of a great deal of social interaction. We indulge in them for reasons which have nothing to do with hunger or thirst, and to fulfil needs which are of a psychological nature. In other words we eat and drink not because we are hungry or thirsty, but because it’s sociable, for example, or because of how we feel.
Feeling you have no control over your eating and drinking is very frequently a symptom of other issues which need attention, and this is why, for many people, long term weight control efforts result in a sense of failure and a consequent lowering of self esteem. Maintaining a healthy weight often requires you to give attention to social and emotional issues, and in this way obtain an understanding of what eating and drinking mean for you.
When you use hypnotherapy for the control of weight the course of hypnotherapy taken must be suited to the individual concerned; to you, as the unique and special person you are. I conduct a detailed assessment for you, and based on that assessment recommend an appropriate hypnotherapeutic approach which addresses the issues you face as the individual person you are.
